Loop Ballarat

The Loop program provides valuable experience in copywriting, editorial, pictorial aspects of newspaper production,design and layout. Loop has recently undergone some major changes: previously it was published as a weekly page but now, with continued collaboration with The Courier, participants are able to contribute insightful articles that are well researched and topical in the main section of the paper.

Our Loop team, along with the YAB are currently on the path to improve Loop. The team is expecting to create an exciting new Loop publication in the form of a magazine which is to be released at regular intervals. The Loop group is currently designing a website where writers can contribute online. It will have many interactive features and should be an exciting way forward for Loop.

Being involved in Loop provides me with numerous opportunities to get involved in the community, run events and also develop skills necessary to being involved in the writing business. Loop also provides me the opportunity to work with a team of local youth and a successful locally run newspaper. Being involved with Loop gives me the opportunity to see my articles published and learn skills to do with writing, editing, developing and creating a page for the newspaper.
