Community Dinner
Lead On Cairns Community Dinner held on the 16th May 2008, marked the launch of the Lead On Cairns website by Multi-Media Award Winner and Lead On Cairns President, Matt Langtree. Lead On participant Mia Lumley, winner of the Cairns City Council’s Young Citizen of the Year Award, was the guest speaker.
Youth arranged the entire event – from designing the program, deciding on the order of events, venue set up, lighting and sound and entertainment on the night. This included a PowerPoint presentation, drama and original band performances as well as a raffle supported by local businesses.
There was a presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to sponsors of Lead On Cairns. Another highlight of the evening was the auctioning of 2 chefs and an ice carver! It was certainly an event not to be missed!
